The aligners are removable, so you can take them in and out of your mouth when you eat, drink, brush and floss your teeth. Invisalign was designed for adults who want to have their teeth straightened or respaced. Invisalign can also correct minor bite problems, like a mild overbite. How Does Invisalign Work?In order to get Invisalign, you need to come into our office for a consultation. We would take pictures of your teeth and x-ray them as well to create a treatment program for your mouth. We also use the pictures and x-rays to create the invisible aligners. Instead of trying to fix all of your teeth at one time, Invisalign concentrates on fixing one or two teeth at a time instead. Every two months, you will come in for a checkup and a new set of aligners. Advantages of InvisalignInvisalign has many advantages. Because of the way the aligners work, your treatment time is about 6 months shorter on average than traditional braces. How great is that? Invisalign doesn’t use any metal wires or brackets either, which is amazing. Wires and brackets can tear into your cheek and gums, and there’s no tightening either, which means less pain. Because you can remove the aligners, Invisalign allows you to continue your good dental health. You can brush and floss with the aligners much more easily than with traditional braces, which means your teeth will be pearly white and stain-free after treatment.
